HandiFox Online rolls out its new Android app (beta)

We’re excited to announce the beta release of our new Android app. Let’s cut to the chase and see what’s awaiting the Android users of HandiFox Online.

Fresh, refined UI

The new UI is unclogged, clear, and, for what it’s worth, less orange:) There’s more space to unload your mind, simplify the search, and focus on the tasks ahead. 

The new Android app offers a menu tab bar that enables quick access to all the software modules. You can change which module screen (Sales, Purchases, Transfers, or Inventory )shows up first after the login by going to More->Select Main Screen.

To see more information and functions related to items and transactions, tap on an item/transaction, and you will see a popover with all available options.

PIN Authorization

The first login will prompt the user to come up with a PIN as a verification layer for further use. You can change it in settings under More->Security.

Offline mode vs. real-time syncing

The new Android app is designed to work in real time. You can swipe down (pull-to-refresh) once you think it’s important to sync up with the web part and QuickBooks Online quickly. Otherwise, it syncs automatically.

The offline mode is still available with certain limitations: you won’t be able to save Unit of Measure presets and print transactions out.

What features are in the beta?

Most of the functionality of the former Android app has been transferred to the beta version. 

Inventory 

  • Review, search for, view the details, and edit items
  • Add product images
  • Record and assign barcodes to products
  • Check the availability of products in real-time
  • Carry out cycle counts and physical inventory
  • Set up Units of Measure

Transfers

  • Reallocate inventory from one location to another

Purchasing

  • Generate new purchase orders
  • Review and edit POs (Not Received, Received, Closed)
  • Complete stock intake against open POs
  • Select preferred vendor

Sales

  • Review customer details, order history, and balance
  • Apply credit memos
  • Make a call and get directions for delivery
  • Generate new sales Orders, invoices, sales receipts
  • Pick and pack
  • Document payments
  • Print out sales transactions

That said, there are things that we’re working on and will be gradually shipping after processing your feedback. Some of these are:

  • Alternative vendors
  • Warning for FIFO or FEFO picked lot-numbered items
  • Emailing transactions as a PDF
  • The ability to edit paid invoices
  • Changing prices in invoices based on pricing updates in linked sales orders
  • And a lot more.
