2016 in Review and New Year’s Resolutions for 2017

On the doorstep of the holiday season, with 2017 quickly approaching, we decided to take a look back on 2016 and see where we stand and what we have yet to achieve.

New product – new heights

The online version of HandiFox has been a major focus for us throughout 2016. QuickBooks Online has won a considerable audience that is eager to transition or already has to cloud accounting. Inventory businesses, however, face substantial limitations as to how QuickBooks Online handles inventory. With this in mind, we’ve been trying to replicate the desktop version of HandiFox with its tight QuickBooks integration and an ample toolkit of features to ensure centralized and accurate inventory and sales management, and make it available in the cloud (read more about how HandiFox Online complements and extends the inventory-related features of QuickBooks Online).

In July 2016 we applied HandFox Online to compete in the $100K Small Business App Showdown at QB Connect 2016 (read our retrospective blog post about QB Connect 2016). HFO emerged as a Top 10 New Small Business Apps for QuickBooks Online. QB Connect was an exceptional and invaluable experience for our team and we consider our ‘finalist’ status a truly big win for a brand new product like HandiFox Online.

Still making HF Desktop as good as it can be

Despite the development focus being shifted towards the online version, we managed to pull off a couple of enhancements to the desktop version:

  • Improved Serial / Lot Numbers functionality:

- Serial & Lot numbers have been added to the Transfer transactions

- In order to provide our customers with more flexibility in using lot numbers we have added the ability to specify several lot numbers for the same items in the Pick Order and Receive items windows

  • Support for GS1 barcodes has been implemented

Highest Client Feedback Rating

Our ambition is primarily to be recognized by our users. For a good half of 2016 we have been collecting reviews, opinions, feedback and inputs on how efficient we are at what we do. It turns out HandiFox has many users who swear by our product. We were given tremendous support and high ratings in the User Favorite Award Contest powered by Accountex. HandiFox ranked highest in the inventory management category and we couldn’t be more proud (read more about the User Favorite Award).

New Year’s Resolutions for 2017

To live up to our customers’ expectations and justify their trust, we will devote 2017 to the continuous improvement and perfection of HandiFox Desktop and HandiFox Online. We are in full swing planning of the 2017 roadmap – thanks to our partners’ and clients’ inputs on the features they would like to see in HandiFox we were able to put together a list of the most wanted features and prioritize them. There are a lot of exciting changes ahead and a special offer is awaiting those who are migrating to QuickBooks Online next year and are seeking a powerful inventory management system (for more information contact sales@handifox.com)
